I think the best character of a book is Patch Cipriano, from the saga Hush Hush, of Becca Fitchpatrick (o algo así, es algo raro el apellido). Patch is a fallen Angel, which the Archangle expelled of heaven because he fell in love with a human.

Patch is a fallen Angel, which the Archangle expelled of heaven because he fell in love with a human.
Patch wanted to be human (because fallen angels can't feel contact) and for that he have to kill the son of a Nephilim - the fallen angels wanted vengeance for being banished from heaven, so they procreated with humans, and fostered a new race, the Nephilims, with the same power as the fallen angels - but Patch fell in love, again, with a human, Nora Grey.
He try to kill her in.
