To Be + Noun + Complement, sothe short aswers are written with Yes + Noun + V.

To Be + Complement

For Example : ¿Is Jacob here?

Answer : Yes, Jacob is here

Now, if the question is written in the form wh, the answer will be different.

For Example : Why don't you study English?

Answer : (for example) I don't like English, so I don't make a minimum effort to learn it
