At the age of 14, he developed a device that was able to throw a ball of light (No one ever managed to understand its operation) at a distance of about 50 meters.
His parents worried about this invention (since it was a danger for Gustav and those around him), taking advantage of a night in which the boy slept, destroyed the machine and threw it into the Pegnitz River.
