Hola There is quiere decir "hay" y se usa para singular.

There are también quiere decir 'hay" pero se usa para plural

Ex there is a teacher at the school.

Hay un profesor en el colegio

There are many teachers at the university.

Hay muchos profesores en la universidad

There is a dog under the table.

Hay un perro debajo de la mesa

Para hacer preguntas inviertes así :

Is there anybody there?

Hay alguien allá?

Are there students there?

Hay estudiantes allá?
