En resumen
Past simple : se utiliza para mencionar echos pasados en un tiempo determinado o específico.

Past perfect : se utiliza para mencionar una acción que se realizó antes que otra, ósea que en la oración se mencionan dos acciones seguida pero que ambas tuvieron lugar en el pasado

(Siempre se escribe en pasado perfecto la primera acción)
Condicional sentence III : en el If clause se utiliza es past perfect, y en el en el main clause se utiliza el perfect conditional.
El tipo III se utiliza en casos de suposición.
Digamos que "traduciendo" sería : si hubiese pasado esto, habrías echo esto.
