C. , February 14, 2013 – A new lawsuit alleges that the City of Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department’s (JFRD) hiring, transfer and assignment policies have a disproportionately adverse effect on Black employees.
The lawsuit, filed by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, also alleges that JFRD subjects African American employees to a hostile and racially charged work environment in violation of the Civil Rights Act.
