The Lightbulb
The lightbulb was invented by Thomas Edison in 1878.
It was a prototype incandescent lighbulb : it was a thin string of paper, attached to wires, enclosed in a vacuum inside a glass bulb.
But, the problem of this invention was that the paper burned out very quickly.
In 1897, after thousands of tests, an "Edison Pioneer", Lewis H.
Latimer, found out that carbonized cotton thread worked better than paper, it didn't burn out so quickly.
The lightbulb is Edison's most famous invention, and one of the first ones that actually sold.
Even up to today, we use the lightbulb, the human race has made it better so that it can last longer.
Thanks to ThomasaEdison we have the lightbulb, and thanks to Lewis H.
Latimer we can use it up for a long period of time.
We normally use the lightbulb everyday, when we turn on the lights.
But we do have to be careful with this wonderful invention.
Make sure to screw it well, and do not leave it turned on for too long ; like when you or anyone else isnot in the room, to give an example.
The lightbulb is a great invention, and it has gotten better.
