I'm pretty good at English, so my parents are going to sign me up for an English contest.
I told them I will lose for sure because I'm not so confident of myself.
I told them I won't win the gold medal, I told them I was going to be really nervous.
They told me that it was ok if I didn't win, the only thing that matters is that I do my BEST.
