Materials :

one balloon

1 plastic bottle ( 600 ml .

Approx.

)

½ cup white vinegar

1 funnel

1 tablespoon

1 elastic band

Sodium Bicarbonate

How to :

ExperimentsVerter white vinegar in the plastic bottle .

Using the funnel , add two tablespoons of baking soda ( can be easily obtained at any pharmacy ) inside the balloon .

Place the balloon in themouth of the bottle , taking great care that the baking soda does not fall within the same ( see the video to understand better) and secure the opening with a rubber band .

Once ready , now to dump baking soda inside the balloon content .

Observe what happens .

What happens ?

As you can see the balloon inflate itself seems , but in reality it is a chemical phenomenon .

What happens in thisexperiment is simple , baking soda and white vinegar (which is acetic acid type ) crash together .

This mixture reacted both substances and the result of such chemical reaction ( acid - base ) are novel compounds.

One is carbon dioxide , the gas to fill the bottle escapes to the balloon causing it to inflate .
