Afirmativo : Primero there is y luego tu complemento, si quieres puedes agregar el lugar donde se encuentra este.

Por ejemplo : There is a book in the TABLE.

Y en there are indica plural, ya que se usa para nombrar mas de un elemento,

por ejemplo : " There are bookS"En interrogativo :

En "there is" debes escribir primero "is", luego " "There" y por ultimo un solo complemento, o una cosa, ya que "is" es singular, por ejemplo : "Is there my pencil?

Y en there are es plural, debes usar mas de un elemento y añadir "s", ejemplo : Are there my books?

En negativo : debes abreviar el "Not", para eso en There is, debe escribirse There isn't y NO escribir "is'nt"
