El inglés es hoy por hoy la lengua del mundo actual ; de aquí se desprende la importancia de la formación en el idioma de nuestros estudiantes. En muchos países el inglés se imparte dentro del sistema educativo, por un lapso de cinco años, sin embargo, resulta preocupante que al finalizar el bachillerato, los alumnos poseen conocimientos muy elementales acerca del idioma, y a veces estos resultan insuficientes al ingresar al nivel de educación superior. Son diversas las opiniones acerca de las posibles causas de esta situación, pero casi todos coinciden en la importancia de la motivación de los estudiantes para hacer más efectivo el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje. Existen numerosos trabajos de investigación, que determinan lo fundamental y vital del aspecto motivacional para la implementación de las clases de idiomas. Al respecto queda claro que este punto es de la absoluta responsabilidad del docente. Parece ser entonces que es el profesor quien tiene la tarea de hacer de la motivación su herramienta diaria en pro de favorecer el desarrollo de cada clase. A nivel nacional el aprendizaje del idioma Inglés se ha tornado de vital importancia por la valorización que este ha adquirido a través de los años y de las diferentes experiencias. Es por ello el interés del gobierno implantar proyectos encaminados a un buen manejo de habilidades, destrezas y aptitudes tanto en maestros como estudiantes quienes se ven en la obligación de día a día investigar y practicar . A nivel provincial es notoria la falta de utilización de recursos didácticos para desarrollar las destrezas que son necesarias en el aprendizaje del idioma Inglés, entre ellas tenemos la destreza de escuchar, la cual es sumamente importante ya que a través de esta podemos desarrollar las habilidades subsiguientes. Alcanzar un nivel al menos básico de inglés no será posible si se tiene escasos recursos didácticos para motivar a las estudiantes a interesarse en el idioma. Además se observó en las estudiantes que ellas carecen de aprendizajes significativos por la falta de motivación, ausencia de recursos didácticos pero no es la variedad de estos sino que el inadecuado uso que han venido dando los docentes a dichos recursos. En la ciudad de Guayaquil es muy difícil para los alumnos aceptar que, para aprender una lengua extranjera se tienen que cometer errores. El temor al ridículo y a ser señalado como inepto anula muchas veces la motivación realizada por el profesor. Por lo tanto, aprender otro idioma significa tener la voluntad de correr riesgos y aprender a tolerar ambigüedades, e incluso, algún tipo de caos. Se requiere que el docente sea : un guía, orientador, facilitador, investigador, motivador, participativo y creador de oportunidades que contribuyan al proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje, fomentando la utilización de técnicas y estrategias de enseñanza que estimulen las actividades académicas en base a las necesidades e inquietudes del estudiante. En la institución donde se va a hacer la investigación instrucción primaria la mayoría de estudiantes llegan a la Educación media con un nivel bajo en cuanto al conocimiento del Idioma extranjero - Inglés, y esto se debe a la insuficiencia en los recursos tecnológicos y apropiados, a la falta de estrategias en la gerencia educativa para realizar un control y asesoría pedagógica tanto en la planificación curricular del área de Inglés como en la aplicación de metodologías o estrategias participativas de los docentes, lo que conduce al bajo rendimiento de los estudiantes quienes lejos de apreciar este segundo idioma se llegan a sentir desmotivados y desinteresados en el aprendizaje del mismo.
