Any quiere decircualquierao algún, pero algunas veces estas tienen significados diferentes en español.
Ejemplos :
I haven´t seen any of the thieves = No he visto a ninguno de los ladrones
None of the thieves havepassed by me = Ninguno de los ladrones ha pasado por mí
En la primera oración no se puede usar none porque ya está el haven´t y en inglés no puedes usar dos palabras negativas a la vez en una misma oración.

None of them
Which of the thieves did you want to catch?
Any of them.
