Queremos indicar que la acción del verbo estaba ocurriendo en un determinado momento del pasado.
I was watching TV at eight o´clock.
Estaba viendo la tele a las ocho.
He was playing in the park at four o´clock.
Ella estaba jugando en el parque a las 4.
I was doing my homework when the phone rang.
Estaba haciendo los deberes cuando sonó el teléfono.
