Tomamos un ejemplo para la explicación
Is the pencil red or yellow?
Es el lápiz rojo o amarillo?
Hay tres posibles respuestas :
1.
Si se cumple una de las dos
The pencil is red.
El lápiz es rojo.
O The pencil is yellow.
El lápiz es amarillo
2.
Si se cumplen las dos posibilidades
The pencil is (both ) red and yellow .
El both lo puedes omitir El lápiz es (ambos) rojo y amarillo
3.
The pencil isn't either red or yellow O.
The pencil is neither red nor yellow.
El lápiz no es ni rojo ni amarillo
