Como pasar preguntas a confirmar o negar en ingles?

TAG QUESTIONSEn español, a veces afirmamos algo y al final de esa oración le hacemos una pregunta al final de la oración pidiendo la confirmación de ésta (de la oración.

Estarás en la graduación ¿no?

POSITIVA

No estarás en la graduación ¿o si?

NEGATIVA

Si la oración está en afirmativa, la pregunta suele pasar a la forma negativa, y viceversa.

Usamos el auxiliar de la pregunta.

1. En la siguiente oración, la persona que habla pide confirmación sobre si ellos le mintieron, no sobre si él o ella lo piensa.

Por eso el sujeto de la question tag es they, y no I :

I think they lied to us, didn’t they?

2. Para convertir I’m not decimos : Aren’t I.

I’m late, aren’t I?

3. Para "this" y "that" usamos "it" en las question tags ; y para "these" y "those", usamos "they" :

That’s right, isn’t it?

These are mine, aren’t they?

He doesn’t have an alibi, does he?

She didn’t hurt your feelings, did she?

You think this song is about you, don’t you?

He won’t betray us, will he?

You can work from home, can’t you?

We’ve been through this before, haven’t we?

I’m not in your way, am I?

I’m still welcome here, aren’t I?
