Como escribir mi relato de mi fin de semana en pasado simple?

Un ejemplo :

Last weekend I had a really good time.

First thing I did on Saturday I called my best friend to invite her to the Mall and hang out, then go check the specials in the stores we usually go to, later in the evening to wrap up a fabulous day, we ate at really cool restaurant that just opened.

After that we just went home and took it easy the rest of the weekend.

But we had a blast nonetheless because we found some really cool stuff at the store and found an acquaintance that has been such a long time that I have not seen her among other things.
