The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 36 - year - old man and a 33 - year - old Spanish woman on Saturday for his alleged involvement in the death of a man on 4 May.
Both detainees are agents of the Guardia Urbana de Barcelona.
The body found last week was completely burned in the trunk of a car on a forest track near the Foix marsh, in Castellet i la Gornal (Barcelona).
It is suspected that it could be the one of another city guard of Barcelona recently disappeared - a data pending to be confirmed by the autopsy - and that was assassinated before being introduced in the car.
As reported by the police in a statement, "the couple will pass over the next few days to court.
" The investigating court that handles the case maintains the secrecy of the proceedings and the investigation, which remains open.
