For example, in 1903, the director of the Bank of Michigan advised Ford's attorney, Horace Rackham, not to invest in the Ford Motor Company, in the following terms :
— the horse will remain, but the car is nothing more than a novelty without a future, a fad.
Rackham ignored that advice, invested five thousand dollars in shares of the Ford company.
