When he decided to create his car company, Henry Ford (1863 - 1947) had to hear a multitude of looks on the part of his potential investors.
For example, in 1903, the director of the Bank of Michigan advised Ford's attorney, Horace Rackham, not to invest in the Ford Motor Company, in the following terms :
— the horse will remain, but the car is nothing more than a novelty without a future, a fad.
Rackham ignored that advice, invested five thousand dollars in shares of the Ford company.
