- Allows the use of mechanisms such that the referendum, popular initiative, etc.

- Allows to express the individual interests purely - The protection given to minorities - Stimulates thecitizen participation - Helps the people to protect their own fundamental interests - Erradicates theauthoritarianism and every kind of fascism

Disadvantages : - It can be used to take decisions by own wish - Government in turn manipulation - Thegovernment can get easy resources to their supporters and deny any social project or request - Themajority's principle in which it's holded this instruments get in risk the rights of minorities - Their mechanisms can be controled by dangerous interest groups, who find the way to sidestep the legislative steps - It's mechanisms can be slow and expensive - It can create apathy and fatige in the people - It's argumented that the ordinary citizens are not ready to take complex desicions - Feeds the polarization of the politician options and get to forced options.
