World Food Day is celebrated every October 16, date determined in 1979 by the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture (FAO) and coinciding with the founding of the same in 1945.

Its creation was in order that people become aware of the malnutrition that exists in the world and together with the authorities of their nations help to change that.

This reality has been addressed by the organization Action Against Hunger, which in early October launched the Restaurants Against Hunger campaign for Peruvian cuisine to join people with fewer resources by making available the "Solidarity Dish".

Part of the profits collected, until November 30, will be destined for the benefit of the children of Santiago de Lucanamarca.
